Get to know the photographer
Imagine we are sitting on the front porch together drinking coffee as you read this :)
Before I embrace my role as a photographer, I proudly take on the role as a wife and mother. At the core of who I am though, I am a child of the Living God. My journey began at the age of 20 when I experienced a profound encounter with God that led me to repent and dedicate my life to Jesus. Through His grace, I found healing and purpose, compelling me to serve as His hands and feet here on Earth. Whether it means offering patience on your wedding day or providing a prayer during your session, my commitment is to support you both spiritually and physically. Who knows maybe we will become besties and have bible studies together!
I am blessed with four wonderful children — two boys and two girls — and I share my life with my high school sweetheart. Together, we enjoy the charm of country living in our beautiful home, surrounded by our beloved pets including three cats, four dogs, and even some chickens! When I’m not capturing memories through photography, you can find me outdoors, indulging in activities like fishing, hunting, nature walks, exploring the creek, or riding ATVs.
I am an extroverted introvert, if there is even such a thing. I love people, especially children and the elderly. I could literally talk all day long with both age groups. But at the same time I could thrive by spending a whole day (alone) talking out loud to myself, ha. I have been told that I am loud, bold and have no issue speaking my mind-- this can be a wonderful tool when used in the right direction. I love to laugh and joke around. I am witty if need be, but truly I am just simply me. To get the Shania Experience, you're gonna have to book the session, friend.
I also embrace my feminine side, relishing a good manicure, a refreshing iced coffee, and a delightful shopping excursion- where I actually just look around kid free and don't actually buy anything, LOL. Beyond these joys, I find peace in studying God’s word and spending quiet moments with Jesus on my front porch, savoring a warm cup of freshly brewed coffee. As you join my client family, I look forward to sharing more about myself along the way; I am an open book ready to connect on both a personal and professional level.
As a photographer, I get it. As a mother, I get it. As a wife, I get it. I am 100% relatable in most aspects.
Motherhood
In 2016, I became a mom for the first time to a sweet little boy named William when I was just 19 years old. Our family grew in 2018 with the arrival of our first baby girl, Alela, and then again in 2021 with another girl, Elul. Finally, in 2023, we welcomed our last little boy, Elijah. Becoming a mother was a journey into the unknown for me; all I knew was that William was meant to be my son, and I was meant to be his mom. With each new addition to our family, my heart felt more and more complete—children have a remarkable way of filling our lives with love.
Having grown up with parents struggling with addiction, I was raised by my grandparents, and that experience fueled my determination to break the cycle. I was committed to marrying my best friend, to being a present and nurturing parent, and to truly raising my children. While my journey is far from perfect and I often feel the weight of challenges, one thing remains certain: my babies are surrounded by love.
So here I am, living my best life, married to my best friend, and embracing the joys of motherhood with my beautiful kids! Motherhood truly is a remarkable adventure, and just like that, I’m sharing a piece of my heart with you.
Photography
When it comes to photography, my greatest desire is to capture those precious moments that you’ll cherish forever. Photos are often all we have left of our loved ones when they’re no longer with us, and I truly believe in the power of memories. My journey with photography began in 9th grade when I picked up a digital camera just for fun, but that playful interest quickly blossomed into a deep passion and hobby. As time went by, I recognized that I wanted to turn this love into a business. In 2018, I proudly launched my photography venture, and over the past seven years, it has blossomed beautifully.
I feel incredibly thankful for each and every client and the experiences we’ve shared. Building strong, meaningful relationships with my clients is so important to me, and over time, some have even become like family. I can't wait to hear YOUR story as we embark on this journey together to create a stunning, story-telling photo session.
